The mansion was built in the 80s of the 16th century and during the Republic of Ragusa, it served as a place for an ideal vacation for the entire gentry of Dubrovnik. Since it was built during the Renaissance and Baroque style, it abounds in details which further complete the overall appearance and the historical spirit that it exudes. During the Croatian War of Independence and the Greater-Serbian aggression, the mansion was entirely ruined. After the end of the war, it was renovated in accordance with the regulations of conservation guidelines. Since this is the property which is nationally protected as a cultural monument, it has been renovated and looks the same as 500 years ago, including the arrangement of rooms, stairs, and arches made of autochthonous stone from Brač.
